After much delay due to COVID concerns, "winter" camping is back! It's already spring but we made it happen. And this is arguably the most memorable destination on our indoor museum rotation. Our 5th graders had never had a chance to board the Battleship so it was great that 2 of them could pull it off before moving on to the troop. And we had a bunch of youngsters join them among the ranks of brave enlistees. We slept on ship Friday night after listening to a lengthy 2-hour tour that kept the boys interest for all of 20 minutes, but had a bunch of Dad's in awe for much longer. They got to witness the firing of a sidegun, tour the control room, eat on board like a real sailor and play games in the general area.
