The annual kickoff to a new Scouting Season was a rounding success as we gathered Scouts old and new in a new location. This year we moved to the Grange Park which allowed us to take advantage of the nearby park, cook S'mores on a portable firepit by the pavilion, and make good use of the GaGa pit. That was especially meaningful to me as it was roughly the 1-year Anniversary of my son Logan's Eagle project and it was great to see his efforts being utilized by this generation of Pack 462. It really shows the symbiotic nature of Pack and Troop.
We garnered from at least 15 potential new scouts: 1 Webelo, 2 Bears, 5 Wolves, 1 Tiger, 5 Lions, and even a down-the-road connection from a Dragon scout. That helps offset some of the natural turnover in the ranks and sets up a great year with full dens at every level. Theoretically, we now have a 58-kid roster if everyone who's expressed interest actually re-registers. That's AMAZING.
