Patrick Hutton led a STEM-focused pack meeting that combined enginerring, arts & crafts, and the thrill of competition. Unfortunately not many of our spacecraft really travelled too well on kid power alone. It seemed like Patrick was the only one with the magic touch. He could get any kid's tube to shoot across the fishing line or at least move, while the kids were overtwisting their propellors or any number of other engineering failures on their own. But as Patrick quoted "failure is the mother of invention and you learn more from mistakes than successes.
Kids who couldn't get it to work still had fun and were often right back in line trying to give it another shot. It was a science-themed week as The Webelos den also made their own crystallized rocks out of borax and pipe cleaners, which were distributed at the Pack mtg.
