After originally getting postponed due to Canadian Wildfires that were causing air quality warnings down here, the Pack managed to get back together during the so-called "off season" for a Summer Campout.

Apparently it was brutal hot and we will definitely be moving it back to the early June timeslot where it usually fits in the Scout Calendar. At least they got cooled off with a torrential downpour at night (sarcasm intended). But on the bright side, Committee Chair Tim Johansen pre-cooked sausage with peppers and onions to reheat over the fire and that looked amazing. The pool was also open this year, which is always a blast when it's hot out. Nice to play in the water with friends who may not have memberships to the same swim clubs back in H-Town.
Of course there were other treats and highlights. Get a look at the size of the S'more that young Jack Garrett had. They went boating on the lake, some people in rented row boats, others in blowup kayaks. Everyone who made the trip got a nice new custom patch (and we'll distribute the extras to anyone who's been to French Creek in the past as well).
Weather doesn't always go our way, but so glad that we got a decent attendance for a mid-summer event. Between that and the BlueRocks game in early August we actually had a full 12 month calendar this year!
