James Hutton took first place in his final year in Pack 462. His closest competition was a Wolf Alex Hampson who took 2nd with the exact same average time: 0.7692 across 13 heats each. That's crazy close. But they rematched again and again in different lanes so we know it was fair. James' dad Patrick was one of the key race organizers but he certainly didn't take advantage. He was giving away weights and graphite and glue to help every other competitor be as competive as possible.

Alex was the newest entry to the winners's circle. Danney Lacey also got a trophy as top Lion at #6 overall. Those kids are going to have high expectations moving forward. Good luck to their parents. The 3rd place price was Wren Onopa (one of last year's top 3). Then in 4th was the big winner from 2024 Hunter Phillips. He and Jack Garrettt get the honor of joining our top 3 at districts. All 5 of our district entrants had cars running sub 1 times. 0.999 for Jack.
The creativity prizes were even more insane. Almost every kid (and their parents) had a different imaginative vision. They each turned their block of wood into a work of art. First place was Colin Hatton for his Crest tooth paste tube (classic wedge shape) complete with messy toothpaste (tungsten putty) spilling out. 2nd was Garrett Kroeger's Harry Potter broomstick. 3rd was Jacob Hutton's musical ice cream truck. Honorable mentions included Jack Davin's army vehicle, Grady Boyle's race within a race, a Leprechaun themed St. Patty's mobile, McDonalds fries. Kelce's cybertrunk. A shark. A Y-wing. And an F-16 thunderbird.
